Zeaxanthin

About

Zeaxanthin, a carotenoid, is one of two of the most abundant antioxidants which are located in the eye. These carotenoids have been featured in studies and found to reduce the risk of chronic eye diseases such as AMD and cataracts. They are thought to protect the eyes from harmful ultraviolet lights by filtering out blue light which can damage sensitive vision cells in the macula over time. Additionally, they may help the body to protect against free radical damage.
